CenturyYuasa’s motive power division has made a number of investments in recent months that strategically place it at the forefront of the materials handling industry in terms of providing energy solutions fit for all applications.
“I am confident these investments make Century the most compelling offer for any business requiring battery servicing or new batteries for materials handling equipment,” says national sales manager Lloyd Parris.
The investment includes a fleet of new service trucks to reinforce Century’s service offer. The trucks are fitted out for overhauling batteries on site, but also include hiabs so that any batteries requiring more intensive servicing can be safely and speedily removed and taken to a Century depot for maintenance work.
Century’s service offer is backed up by five service technicians strategically located around New Zealand. These technicians operate in the field, but also have the ability to work from any of CenturyYuasa’s 11 depots throughout the country.
More than just servicing
The motive power offer is more than just the servicing of batteries, however. Century can provide a full diagnosis of any materials handling system that requires stored energy, from identification of the correct battery applications, servicing post installation, through to recommendations on charging requirements to suit the individual needs of each customer.
Further investments have been made in areas of battery design and build to ensure the service offer in the field is backed by a first-class product when the battery requires full replacement.
The motive power batteries are assembled in CenturyYuasa’s brand-new facility located in Onehunga, Auckland. The facility incorporates a new national support office, distribution centre and battery building and charging facilities.
Having a New Zealand-based design and build operation ensures Century has the ability to adapt to different customers’ requirements in an efficient manner. “Our battery build team is extremely responsive to differing customers’ requirements, and we are very proud of our ability to turn out orders and deliver on time,” comments Mr Parris. |
